Quick Start

For those of you that are familiar with My Garden Pal this is a short version on the help files. If you would like more details please start here...

Look at your plants online by going to Plant Information menu then My Shared Plants. Here you can Add a new plant, Edit and Delete plants.
When you Search My Garden Pal encyclopedia for a plant and click on the plant details, there is an option just above the plant details to Add to my shared plants. This will add that plant information to your list and you can view it by following step 1.
Reminders are sent out once per month. When you edit or add a plant there are options through the page where you tick a reminder to Sow, fertilize or prune. There are no general reminders or watering reminders online. Please use the desktop software for this option.
Synchronization desktop to web site - You can upload all your desktop plants and manage them online. The diagrams below shows you how to upload using the desktop software. Either you can highlight the plants you wish to upload in the Browse window. Or you may click into each plant to edit and click the Share On Web button.

If you decide to go back to managing the plants again on your desktop software you will have to use the desktop search function and download the plant again. In the next version of the desktop software we will have a synchronization option to the web database.

What is online that is NOT in the desktop software

Until the new version of desktop software is released there are a few new entry fields online.

Plant Sexuality - used to determine if you need one or more of the plants to reproduce, choose from a selection list.
Uses For This Plant - a note box to describe how the plant may be prepared for extra uses, e.g. medicinal
Usage - a multi-selection list where you can choose a set of usages for the plant
Companion Plants - a multi-selection list where you can choose the Botanic Name from our plant encyclopedia of plants that support this plant.
Sow Reminders - a new reminder

Currently there is no plant to implement these features online (but please let us know if you would like to see them online ):
