Creating Tips

The Tips feature of My Garden Pal club enables you to create tips for others. This way you can share your knowledge with others.  Say the rainy season is going to start early this year and you want to let people know this, you could write a tip "We are expecting an early rainy season this year so apply your grass weeder now."  Enter this tip for the appropriate month and the tip will appear in the desktop software for the appropriate users and can be searched by online members.

To create tips, you need to:

1. Log into My Garden Pal club. The welcome to my garden pal member’s page appears, as shown in Figure 2-13.

2. Click Enter local tips for other gardeners link.

Alternatively, you can click Community menu and select Tips menu item, a shown in Figure 2-1. You can now click Create Tip link appearing on the Search the my garden pal tip archive page that appears.

The garden pal tip page appears, as shown in Figure 2-14.

 

The page displays the Zone, Hemisphere, State and Country information that you entered at the time of registering yourself to My Garden Pal website.

 

1. Enter the title of the tip in Tip field.

2. Provide dates for the tip in the Date From and Date To fields. Only make it for the length of time that the tip can be acted on.

3. Enter the tip description in the Tip Description field.

4. Click Submit, as shown in Figure 2-15.

The message Record added successfully appears on the search the my garden pal tip archive page, a shown in Figure 2-16:

The page also displays the tip you have added under Tips list appearing under Forum heading.
