If you know the growth and leaf details of the plant you need to:
Click Add a new plant button under my plant library heading if the plant does not already exist else browse the plant.
Click Growth/Leaf tab on the Manage add new page, as shown in Figure 1-8.

Note: Tabs are the individual pages of a Window and appear as headings on the top of a window. The tabs of Manage add new Window are: Rosa, Growth/Leaf, Fruit/Flower, Environment, Location, Schedules, Notes and Links, as shown in Figure 1-7.

Provide the Growth type, Foliage, Growth rate, Height (feet or meters), Width (feet or meters), and Origin in their respective fields.

Note: The Height and Width fields can accept either feet or meters as unit values based on your selection of unit values as Imperial or Metric in Owners description page that appears at the time of installing My Garden Pal Software. |
The Growth Type refers to the growth of the plant on a particular landscape and the Growth Rate refers to the growth rate of the plant relative to other plant species. The Height and Width fields allow you to provide the minimum and maximum height and the width of the plant. The Foliage field allows you to specify the type of foliage growth the plant exhibits and the Origin field allows you to specify the origin of the plant.

Select the zone where the plant is grown from the Zone grid, as shown in Figure 1-9.

USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) has divided North America into 11 plant hardiness zones on the basis of there average minimum temperature. These zones are also known as climate zones or growing zones and help you to find out which plants are suitable of which climate. This helps you to grow plants which will not die soon just because they can't manage your region's temperatures.

Specify the leaf details in the Leaf section of the page. Provide the leaf details of the plant such as composition, arrangement, margin, shape, size and colour in their respective Composition, Arrangement, Margin, Shape, Size and Colour fields, as shown in Figure 1-10.
Select the sow season of the plant from the Sow season list of month options, as shown in Figure 1-10:
