Providing Environment Details

 

To provide environment details of the plant you need to:

 

  1. Click Add a new plant button under my plant library heading if the plant does not already exist else browse the plant.

  2. Click Environment tab on the Manage add new page.

  3. Select the sunlight requirement for the plant from the Sun dropdown, as shown in Figure 1-13.  If it is not in the list you can just type it in and it will be entered into the list from now on.

  4. Specify the Ph range for the plant in the Ph range field. The Ph level indicates the acidity or alkalinity content of soil that is ideal for a plant.

  5. Specify the ideal soil requirements of the plant in the Soil properties field and select Drought tolerant or Frost tolerant check boxes if the plant is frost or drought tolerant.

  7. Specify the moulds, diseases or insects that can be detrimental to the growth of the plant in the Pest field, as shown in Figure 1-14.

  9. Specify anything that you want to warn about the plant in the Warning grid.

    For example you can specify the zone and temperature warning for the plant or about the weeds of the plants that may hamper the growth of the plant when they are grown near water. The warning should also include the zone and the country for which it is issued. For example a warning can be "Weed near water courses, Zone 10, Country Australia".

  11. Click Save.
