Printing the Plant information

 

Printing the plant information enables you to refer to the plant information details off-line, without switching on your computer. A hard copy of your plant information also helps you to share the plant details with other people. The My Garden pal desktop software provides two different ways to print the plants information. These two ways are:

 

 

When you print from the Welcome window, you cannot see the plants you are printing. You only specify the search criteria and the result-set matching the criteria will be printed.

 

When you print plants information using Your Garden (browser) window, then you can select one or more records that you want to print.

 

Printing from Welcome Window

 

To print the plant information from the Welcome window, you need to:

 

  1. Click My Plant List button under print my plants heading, as shown Figure 5-1:

    The Print plant list window appears, as shown in Figure 5-2. This window is similar to the search window and allows you to specify the search criteria on the basis of which you need to filter the records that you want to print.

  2. Fill in the print criteria in the fields given on the page.

  3. Click the Print button appearing at the end of the page.

  4. Select your printer from the list of printers, if you have more than one printer configured.

  5. Click the Print on the Print window that appears.

 

Types of print outputs :

  1. My Plant list - A list of plants showing limited data

  2. Information Sheet - a page per plant detailed data sheet.

  3. Plant tag - a quarter page plant information sheet.

  4. To Do List - A list of tasks to do for a specified time.

 

Printing from Browser Window

To print a one page plant detail sheet from the browser window, you need to:

 

  1. Click Browse my plants button on the Welcome screen of the My Garden Pal desktop software, as shown in Figure 2-1.

    Your garden window appears, as shown in Figure 4-1

     

  2. Select the plant that you want to print from the list displayed.

    There are many ways in which you can select the desired plants from the list for printing.

  3. Click Print icon from the toolbar or click File->Print, as shown in Figure 4-3:

  4. Select the printer you wish to print to. All plants that are highlighted will be printed.

 

Printing from Add or Edit screen.

You can print all the plant details when you are in the edit or add plant screen by clicking the print button from the right of the screen.  This option will print all details you have entered about the plant.
