Hello My Garden Pals!

We are heading into the end of summer here in the Southern Hemisphere and I'm sure there are a lot of people looking forward to the cooler months ahead.  I'm assuming those of you in the Northern Hemisphere are just as likely to be looking forward to the wonders of the approaching spring.  With both these events forth coming, there is a lot to do in our gardens.

In the North it’s time for you to get inspired.  Start planning what your garden will look like in the spring and summer months.  Transplant any shrubs or trees while they are still dormant.  Enter into My Garden Pal information about plants you are going to buy and their locations so you are ready to start getting your reminders.  Share this with your friends online with our new feature.  Ever thought of growing asparagus?  Now is the time to plant asparagus crowns if you are in the north and the ground has thawed.  Asparagus is packed with vitamins, no fat or sodium.

New Feature
Now on the web site you can search for your friends’ plants by entering in their user name in the search.
This is also helpful if you want to see if your local nursery has information to import about the plant you have just ordered from them.  Don’t forget to tell them about My Garden Pal to help their customers get the right growing information from the nursery and so they can advertise their plant stocks for free.

I know in the South it’s hard to think about spring time again but now is the time to bury your treasure.  I'm referring to preparation of your bulbs for winter, spring and summer.  Have a think about the colour combinations you want to achieve and start searching for the right bulbs now.  Use My Garden Pal to track where and when you planted them, when they are expected to shoot and when you are expected to give them that all important fertilizer feeds.  Then forget about them until you see your beautiful display come to life and My Garden Pal will tell you what to do next!

Happy snipping!

My Garden Pal
