How to download plant information into your personal My Garden Pal plant encyclopedia.

  1. While you are searching on our web site for your perfect plant or building your garden encyclopedia, if you come across a plant that you need to put into your My Garden Pal personal encyclopedia you can click the "Plant XML" option at the top right side of the plants information page.Plant XML
  2. Choose "Save" and save it to a folder on your harddrive. At this point you may change the file name to say "cyclamen.xml" to make it more meaningful for later.
  3. Click close when it is done
  4. When you have downloaded all your plants open up My Garden Pal personal encyclopedia.
  5. Go to "Browse My Plants"
  6. Choose "file" from the menu
  7. Then "Import From" -> "XML"
  8. Locate the directory where you saved the file in step 2 and click "Open"
  9. You will receive a message 'Plants imported successfully"
  10. You should now see this plant at the bottom of your plant list in the browser screen.
